Custom Mouth Guards

Who needs a mouth guard? If you participate in action sports then you might want to consider a mouth guard. If your orthodontic treatment requires brackets and wires "DO NOT" use a boil & bite type of mouth guard. They will get stuck on your braces and pull the braces off your teeth when you go to remove the guard.

From the American Dental Association: Athletic mouthguards provide protection, but vary in comfort and cost. The most effective mouthguard should be resilient, tear-resistant and comfortable. It should fit properly, be durable and easy to clean, and not restrict your speech or breathing. Generally, a mouthguard covers only the upper teeth, but in some cases Dr. Kunik will make a mouthguard for the lower teeth as well. Don't hesitate to contact Dr. Kunik if you have a question regarding selecting the proper mouthguard to protect your smile. Contact Us

Acceledent

A nice option when the patient has a critically short treatment window. Randy Kunik, DDS

Complete your orthodontic treatment faster by using the AcceleDent System.

What is the AcceleDent System and what does it do?

The AcceleDent System is an orthodontic micropulse device that your orthodontist can prescribe for you to help your orthodontic treatment work faster. Your orthodontics work on their own by moving your teeth in specific directions. The AcceleDent System generates small vibrations—micropulses—as they are guided by your orthodontics. Which means that you can finish your treatment faster—and you feel more comfortable during treatment! And all it takes is 20 minutes a day of regular use.

How can the AcceleDent System help me?

  • Orthodontic treatment finishes faster—plus, it may feel more comfortable

  • Requires only 20 minutes a day—hands-free use so you can text, read, or surf the web

  • Faster treatment time means fewer challenges to dental hygiene
